Study periods in Australia are highly appreciated by German employers, and the acceptance of Australian bachelor and master degrees is growing considerably, especially since such degrees were introduced into the German Educational Framework Law.

Back to the Uni - General Hint:

The recognition of Australian course results by German institutions is not at all automatic! You must apply to your faculty if you want your Australian results to be counted as part of a Diplom or some other German degree.

Back to the Uni with a Bachelor Degree:

You can continue your German studies with an Australian bachelor degree, e.g. in the form of a German master degree or by completing the Diplom which you have already started.

Back to the Uni with a Master Degree:

You can continue your German studies under certain conditions with an Australian master degree, e.g. by completing the Diplom which you have already started or as a doctoral student (see below).

Back to the Uni with a Bachelor Degree with Honours:

You can continue your German studies under certain conditions with an Australian bachelor honours degree, e.g. by completing the Diplom which you have already started or as a doctoral student (see below).

Agreement concerning Acceptance as a Doctoral Candidate:

There is an Agreement between the Deutsche Rektorenkonferenz (DRK) and the Australian Vice Chancellors' Committee (AVCC) which recognises that certain Australian master and bachelor with honours degrees can be accepted as fulfilling the prerequisite for acceptance as a doctoral candidate. But the final decision is taken by the Faculty in Germany.
